Heads Up!

There's a new RAC audit letter coming your way.

If you haven't already received a RAC audit in 2012, be on the look out for the new letters coming from your MAC (Medicare Administrative Contractor) instead of the RAC (Recovery Audit Contractor).  The new letters will look like a traditional Medicare refund request - however upon further review the request is the result of a Recovery Audit Program not a traditional Medicare payment error.

Upon receipt of such refund, remember you have 15 days to rebut the request. In 2012, NBP has found 100% of requested refunds to be inappropriate.
